When first starting out in business, there was one thing that was said to me on a regular basis.

What was said?

Terri, you really shouldn't share your faith. It will turn people away.

Truth be told, they were probably right.

But, it never sit well with me to not give praise to God for giving me a business that provided for me and my husband.

It didn't sit well not to talk about why my faith was so important and how it has helped me get through so many trials.

And so, each day before heading out to meet a client, a little prayer was said.

Before I knew it, those prayers were said as the day was started and some clients would even ask for a specific need in prayer.

And now, there is something missing if my day is not started with thanking God for another day with my family and another day to be able to work.

As the last of 2022 was coming to close, different words would come to mind. In 2022, that word was hope.

While on a walk with our dogs one evening, the words, "Trust in me" kept speaking to my heart.

Looking up trust Bible verses, Proverbs 3:5-6 came up:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, submit to Him and He will make your paths straight."

Some may like it that my faith is shared and some may not.

The truth is that as soon as my trust went to Him as opposed to listening to everyone's advice, things changed.

My marriage became stronger, friendships became more meaningful, and business - it flourished.

And so in 2023, my word is Trust.

Do you have a special word for 2023?

I'd love to know!
